Blessed Hope Orphanage, Mityana, Uganda
Easter has come and gone, and it was celebrated with joy, but not without difficulty. After his near death experience with severe diabetes complications, it was wonderful to have Joseph back to full strength! He will be returning to his college studies in Kampala through the sponsorship of his mom in Christ, Karen Howington. We have so appreciated the prayers and support of dear friends in this ministry!
Easter dinner was quite the undertaking as the heavy rains made cooking for Nagawa very difficult. She cooked over a fire that was covered with a makeshift tarp! Between the rain and the smoke, she endured stinging eyes and a good soaking every time she stepped out for more food items. Nevertheless, they did eat a scrumptious dinner of rice, beans and even meat as they gathered indoors on the floors to eat. Hopefully one day, the home could be furnished with a table, chairs, and beds! Nagawa amazes me with her endurance. It isn’t easy cooking for 33 kids and four adults…let alone
💞
The celebration of the Lord’s resurrection was a joyous occasion nonetheless! Sun eventually came out, By evening the children had enjoyed worship services, a good meal, and even had energy to praise the Lord in the evening with singing and dancing!
Easter break from school was nice, but the kids are back at it with their studies. The kids are so fortunate to be able to attend school as many of Uganda’s poor are unable to afford it. Pray the Lord will cover each child with His protection from illness, malaria, and evil of any kind. Also pray for stamina for both the children and the adults, and that they would continue growing spiritually. Pray as Kakembo resumes his Bible courses two times a week, that he will become more and more equipped to preach
the gospel. We appreciate so much all of you who support in prayer and gifts.❤
contending with drenching rain! She and Kakembo work so hard for the kids..
🙏 Clean water would reduce illnesses such as dysentery and typhoid as well as the expenses to purchase bottled water for 33 kids! Praise God, we have raised $1000 from a generous
contribution towards a well. It will cost approximately $6000 for a well and a simple hand pump. An electric pump would require more. If the Lord lays it on your heart to donate towards this very important blessing, please contact Verna at verna_r_deno.com, or by phone at 907-351-7120. I still have my
Alaska phone number!😜😜
We are so thankful for the love that is displayed at the orphanage, as well as the love for learning more and more about the Lord. Please pray the Lord continues to protect each child from the evil, illness, danger and temptation, Pray each child grows
to love the Lord, to be kind, and to serve Him.
We do need a well!
